COURSE OVERVIEW

Are you wishing to provide safe medication assistance by supporting clients to self-administer their medication?

Join this nationally recognised short course to learn the knowledge and practical skills essential to provide medication assistance within a community and health care context. You will learn and develop valuable skills to support clients safely with their medication requirements.

DELIVERY AND DURATION

20 hours of self-paced online learning

12 hours of face-to-face practical training

10 hours of on-the-job training

Online learning and theory assessment MUST be completed before attending the face-to-face practical training and on-the-job training

HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication

Entry Requirements

  • This skill set is suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher involving direct client care and support
  • Learners must have access to a computer, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online learning and theory assessment

For those eligible for the Higher-Level Skills program, individual must:

  • Permanently reside in Queensland
  • Employed in aged, disability or community care industries in a care support role
  • Have sound literacy, numeracy and computer skills
  • Aged 15 years or over
  • No longer attending school
  • An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen; and not hold, and not be enrolled, a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training
