COURSE OVERVIEW

Are you wishing to provide safe medication assistance by supporting clients to self-administer their medication?


Join this nationally recognised short course to learn the knowledge and practical skills essential to provide medication assistance within a community and health care context. You will learn and develop valuable skills to support clients safely with their medication requirements.

COURSE DETAILS

The following units will be delivered as part of this skill set:

HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Bodies

HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication

training.gov.au – CHCSS00070 Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set

DELIVERY AND DURATION

  • 20 hours of self-paced online learning
  • 12 hours of face-to-face practical training
  • 10 hours of on-the-job training
  • Online learning and theory assessment MUST be completed before attending the face-to-face practical training and on-the-job training

HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Body Systems

HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication

Entry Requirements

  • This skill set is suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher involving direct client care and support
  • Learners must have access to a computer, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online learning and theory assessment

For those eligible for the Higher-Level Skills program, individual must:

  • Permanently reside in Queensland
  • Be employed in aged, disability or community care industries in a care support role
  • Have sound literacy, numeracy and computer skills
  • Be aged 15 years or over
  • No longer be attending school
  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permit on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen; and not hold or be enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification, this does not include qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training
