Jobseekers on the Sunshine Coast now have a pathway to kickstart their career in hospitality, with STEPS launching the nationally recognised SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality course in Caloundra.

Delivered for free through the STEPS Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program, the course equips people with practical, job-ready skills to enter the hospitality industry with confidence.

STEPS CEO Cassie Stanley said the introduction of the course in Caloundra responds to growing demand for skilled hospitality workers in a vibrant tourism region.

“The Sunshine Coast is a thriving tourist destination that attracts visitors year-round and supports a wide range of hospitality businesses,” Ms Stanley said.

“There is strong demand in the region for skilled staff. Through this course, any eligible participant can gain the practical skills and confidence to step into a hospitality role and contribute to their team from day one.”

The hands-on lessons prepare participants to work across a range of hospitality settings, building foundational industry knowledge while developing customer service skills.

Participants gain experience in real hospitality environments, learn safe and hygienic food practices, and develop an understanding of workplace expectations.

“For many people, hospitality is the first step into the workforce or a lifelong career that they love,” Ms Stanley said.

“We’re proud to deliver nationally recognised training that not only builds technical skills, but also the professionalism and mindset that employers seek out.”
