STEPS Community Support has launched Individualised Living Options (ILO), an exciting expansion of the NDIS services we offer across the Sunshine Coast.

We are actively accepting referrals for ILO and inviting NDIS participants, their families and support coordinators to explore what this personalised approach to independent living can offer.

ILO empowers people with a disability to explore, design and implement living arrangements that reflect their needs, preferences and long-term goals. Unlike traditional housing models, ILO is all about flexibility, helping participants decide where they want to live, who they want to live with and what supports they need to thrive, whether that’s sharing a home with a housemate or living alone with a drop-in carer.

“Individualised Living Options gives you more choice and control over how and where you live,” STEPS NDIS Services General Manager Rebecca Bowtell said.

“STEPS is by your side every step of the way.”

Participants work closely with STEPS to explore their options and identify the supports they may need from family, friends, the community and the NDIS. This person-centred approach ensures that every plan is tailored and grounded in what matters most to each individual. Their safety, independence, choices and quality of life are all prioritised to find the best option.

Please note that ILO does not pay for the participant’s housing. Instead, the service focuses on designing the supports around the participant’s preferred living arrangement.

STEPS has had the privilege of providing trusted and empowering disability support services to our communities for the past 40 years.

With upcoming framework changes being introduced by the NDIS later this year, we encourage you to reach out to our friendly team and connect with the service or program that will best suit your needs and goals.

If you know someone who would benefit from the STEPS Individualised Living Options service and would like to refer them, please call our friendly customer care team on 1300 131 965 or visit the ILO webpage.
