Gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for providing person-centred support to people who require assistance due to ageing or disability. The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) is a nationally recognised qualification providing you with the confidence needed to gain employment in a range of care and support roles.

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is made up of 15 units, including 9 core units and 6 electives for the Ageing specialisations and Disability specialisations.

During your course you will be provided with:

  • Work Placement
  • National Police Check *Satisfactory results of a National Police Check is required for work placement.
  • Language, literacy and numeracy support along with other learning support will be provided to students to assist with their studies.

Note: Students are responsible for any transport required for job placement.

Location:

Bundaberg – 2 Bourbong Street

Delivery mode:

  • Mixed mode delivery over 21 weeks (including 120 hours of work placement)
  • Face to face classroom delivery and practical assessment
  • Monday to Thursday – 9am–2:30pm
  • Students may need to spend 5 hours a week on self-studies and completing assessments.

Duration:

21 weeks* including training, employability support and 120 hours of placement.
*Includes training and wraparound support for employment, including team building, communication, employability skills and employment support.

$150 ($10 per unit)

Full fee-paying student: 

$4,200 ($280 per unit)

 

Entry requirements:

  • Physical ability to be able to perform the required manual handling duties of a carer.
  • Students must provide evidence of having flu and COVID vaccinations to complete compulsory placement requirements associated with this program.
  • Following enrolment, students will be required to obtain a clear Federal Police Check. Evidence of Working with Children (Blue Card) and NDIS Worker’s Screening Card (Yellow Card).

Payment:

Payments can be made by a deposit and a weekly payment plan as arranged with STEPS.

For full fee-paying students, a $150 non-refundable deposit must be paid prior to course commencement followed by weekly instalments. Certification will not be issued until fees are paid in full.
