Steps for STEPS is a walking challenge making an enormous impact on the lives of young people with a disability and autism. This April, we’re asking community members like you to lace up and take big steps for a brighter future filled with independence.

You have the power to walk, sponsor a young person, or donate directly to our $50,000 campaign goal, funding transformative and holistic education to help these young people achieve their goals.

Visit our Steps for STEPS webpage to register, sponsor, or donate and change lives.

We need your help

Young people with a disability and autism have the same dreams as anyone else: to make strong connections, live with friends, chase their passions, and build a life that’s truly their own.

Yet so many face barriers to their goals. They are often underestimated and not given the same opportunities as other young people.

STEPS Pathways Charity is dedicated to changing this, giving young people with a disability and autism the opportunity to live the lives they’ve always dreamed of.

That’s why we created Steps for STEPS, a community-powered walking challenge. Walk, sponsor, or donate to our campaign goal and help us make a monumental difference.

Creating brighter futures with STEPS Pathways College

Transformative education and experiences are delivered through STEPS Pathways College, the first and only college of its kind in Australia for young people with a disability and autism.

“We have always depended on the generosity of the community to provide our students with a lifechanging education and help them create a brighter future,” STEPS Pathways Charity Manager Katrina May said.

Two STEPS Pathways College students stand outside with staff member, holding running shoes.

“Our STEPS Pathways College students are proof that young people with a disability and autism are capable of living independent and incredibly fulfilling lives when they are surrounded by people who truly believe in them and invest in their future.”

Every dollar raised helps close a growing funding gap that limits young people accessing STEPS Pathways College.

“When our community gives, our students grow,” Ms May said.

How to get involved

Lace up and make a difference

All throughout April, we’re calling on you to move with purpose. Join our walking challenge, set a distance goal, and ask your friends and family to sponsor you.

You’ll be getting your steps in while you raise critical funds for lifechanging opportunities for young people with a disability and autism.

Sponsor or donate

On Friday 1 May, STEPS Pathways College students will walk 24km from Maroochydore to Caloundra – one kilometre for every month of their transformative learning journey.

You can sponsor one or several of our students, or donate directly to the campaign goal, encouraging them on their journeys and showing them that the community is symbolically walking beside them.

No matter how you choose to help, you are making a lifechanging difference and creating a brighter future not just for young people with a disability and autism, but for their loved ones and the greater community.

Register, sponsor, or donate through the Steps for STEPS webpage today and change lives.
