STEPS Saturday Social Youth Group returning in 2026

The STEPS Saturday Social Youth Group is officially back for 2026, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome returning faces and brand-new participants for another year of connection and community.

Launched in late 2025, the program is designed for youth with a disability and autism who want to develop their independence and social skills while having a great time with friends.

Every Saturday, participants head out across the Sunshine Coast to try new activities, meet new people and explore the world around them with the support of our friendly team.

In 2025, the group enjoyed an unforgettable lineup of outings; we attended the Supanova Comic-Con and Gaming Expo and Aussie World’s Halloween FestEvil, explored the stalls at the Eumundi Markets, made a splash at the Bli Bli Aqua Park, skated in style at the Caloundra Rollerdrome, and much more.

Each experience offered fun opportunities to develop real-world skills like budgeting, navigating public spaces, planning and preparing for outings, and working as a team. Every participant also sets their own goals, working alongside the STEPS Community Support team to provide regular progress updates to their support network and loved ones.

STEPS is currently accepting referrals for the 2026 Saturday Social Youth Group and we would love to welcome new participants as the group continues to grow.
