Our Executive Manager of Community Services Kerry Staines has won the 2018 Sunshine Coast Regional Scholarship.

As the recipient of this annual award Kerry has been offered the opportunity to complete the Company Directors Course, an intensive program that is delivered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Kerry said she was thrilled to have won the 2018 scholarship, and is looking forward to taking the world-class governance learnings and putting them into practice.

“This course is a wonderful opportunity for me to further develop my leadership skills.

“I feel proud to be granted the opportunity to participate in such an excellent program for directors in Australia.

“I’m extremely passionate about wanting to see the Sunshine Coast boom and flourish, and to be part of a progressive group that will deliver the next phase of success for our local community,” she said.

The Company Directors Course is a benchmark qualification for Australian directors.

The AICD Queensland State Manager Melanie Mayne-Wilson said the scholarship program aimed to support local directors on the Sunshine Coast.

She said they received many high quality applications but Kerry stood out due to her inspiring dedication to supporting industry training for people living with disabilities, and mental health issues, as well as the wider community.

“It was clear from her application that she has a real passion for working with the community, for the benefit of the community,” she said.
