After facing personal challenges, Sunshine Coast woman Wendy was looking for a fresh start.
Through her employment service, she discovered the free STEPS Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in Caloundra. It turned out to be a lifechanging opportunity.
Wendy enrolled in the Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) course and quickly found that the program gave her more than just new skills; it gave her a new purpose after feeling lost for some time.
One of the most valuable aspects of the course for Wendy was its flexibility. It allowed her to immerse herself in her study when she felt ready and take a step back when she needed time to regroup.
With guidance from her trainer, she stayed on track by setting goals and adjusting them to suit life’s ups and downs.
“The SEE Program has had such a positive effect on my personal growth and sense of achievement,” Wendy shared.
“I learned how to be consistent and motivate myself. Even when things got busy, I always put in the effort to do at least one thing for the course per week.”
Wendy’s determination paid off. She completed the course and secured a job interview just one week after graduating. She’s now preparing to begin a rewarding career in disability support.
But Wendy’s learning journey doesn’t stop here. She’s also committed to further study, starting with the Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TTP) with the goal of completing a Bachelor of Nursing Science!
Wendy said this course has rewritten her future. “It’s made me a more determined person and has empowered me to never stop learning.”
