You’ll be able to yield higher savings on your large purchases with these discounts, so if you’ve been looking at a certain product for a while, this is the perfect way to maximise the deals below.
Whether you’re in need of a new fridge or it’s time to update your smartphone, there are dozens of retailers offering deals via the SmartSpending platform. Below are a few of the top offers.
Before you start saving…
There are a couple of important things we need to cover before you start accessing these deals:
The SmartSpending app has changed
If you have already accessed the SmartSpending app on your smartphone in the last few days, you may have already seen that the app is changing.
The app is now called Engage, and you’ll see that it has a new look. But rest assured, there are no changes to your discounts and the app’s functionality, so you can continue saving with the brands you love.
Cashback exclusions
Certain brands are excluded from the cashback offers, so we encourage you to read the terms and conditions for each retailer. See the screenshot below for an example from The Good Guys SmartSpending page.
The Good Guys
The Good Guys boasts an extensive range of fridges and freezers, kitchen and cooking appliances, laundry appliances, vacuums, coffee machines, personal care, heating, cooling, TVs, computers, tablets and other technology products.

- SAVE 5% on an eGift card to use on purchases in-store and online
- EARN 3.5% cashback on Heating & Cooling, Smart Home, BBQ & Outdoor products

Myer retails a broad range of products across women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, footwear and accessories, cosmetics and fragrance, homewares, electrical, connected home, furniture, toys, books and stationery, food and confectionery, and travel goods.
Savings:
- SAVE 6% on an eGift card to use on purchases in-store and online
- EARN 6% on Cosmetics, Concession, Menswear, Footwear, Accessories, Womenswear, Intimate & Activewear, and Consignment products

Freedom
Freedom offers a range of furniture and homewares, such as sofas, dining room sets, bed frames and mattresses, art and décor, and much more.

- SAVE 7% on an eGift card to use on purchases in-store and online (Please note, only $1k gift card value can be redeemed per online transaction)

How to access your SmartSpending account
STEPS staff
You can access SmartSpending through the mobile app on iOS and Android, or via the STEPS Employee Benefits Hub (also accessible through our intranet).
Volunteers
As a STEPS volunteer, you can access SmartSpending discounts and cashback deals. Please reach out to Volunteer Coordinator Karla and she can set up your account.
To find and use your discounts, use the mobile app on iOS and Android, or via the Reward Gateway website with your login details.
