STEPS Pathways College is proud to officially announce celebrated journalist, television personality, and advocate Melissa Doyle AM as its Ambassador.
Melissa will play a vital role in raising national awareness for STEPS Pathways College, the first and only educational program of its kind in Australia which is transforming the lives of young adults with a disability and autism.
Her appointment follows her role as host of the 2024 STEPS Grand Winter Ball, an annual black-tie event that raises funds for STEPS Pathways Charity; Melissa will return as a special guest for the 2025 STEPS Grand Winter Ball on Saturday 26 July.
“What an incredible organisation STEPS Pathways College is! It was such a joy to meet so many wonderful young people learning the skills required to navigate an independent life. I was so inspired by the care and guidance being offered to them. It’s an honour to lend my support,” Melissa said.
“Every parent wants their child to reach their full potential and lead a fulfilling life. I’m honoured to be able to offer my support to STEPS Pathways College and ensure as many young people as possible can benefit from the services offered.”
Melissa’s support will help amplify the mission of STEPS Pathways College, which equips students with the skills and confidence they need to lead independent and fulfilling lives through holistic education and support.
“It makes you realise how essential this is to a community, but also how essential community is to running an organisation like this so I encourage you to attend the Grand Winter Ball or help in any other way you can,” Melissa said.
Carmel Crouch AM, STEPS Managing Director, said Melissa’s involvement marks an exciting new chapter for the organisation and will bring increased national attention to the barriers faced by young people with a disability and autism and, more importantly, the opportunities available to help them live independently and achieve their full potential.
“With advocates like Melissa Doyle by our side, we can break down misconceptions and show Australia what’s possible when young people are given the right support and opportunities,” Carmel said.
Melissa will return to the STEPS Grand Winter Ball as a guest on Saturday 26 July 2025. Tickets are on sale, available at www.thestepsgrandwinterball.com.au.
