Next time you have lunch at Hungry Jacks in Hervey Bay say a big ‘hi’ to Lori Henderson who started her new job in May.

Every fortnight Lori had been diligently attending her job search appointments with her STEPS Employment Consultant Rachael Finn, but just wasn’t having any luck in securing work.

The perfect job finally arose at Hungry Jacks Hervey Bay when the manager Steven Reid agreed to STEPS Employment putting candidates forward for the Dining Room Cleaner position.

Marketer, Fiona Baxter, asked all of the Employment Consultants for referrals, and as a result, seven resumes were submitted for the position. Out of those seven resumes Steven chose just Lori to interview.

Lori’s Employment Consultant Rachael supported her at the interview and she was offered the job on the spot.

Lori does a wonderful job of keeping the dining area free of spills, crumbs and rubbish. She also looks fantastic in the Hungry Jacks uniform and is a credit to her employer as she looks happy in her work and is always busy.

Hungry Jacks’ Hervey Bay Manager Steven and his staff should be commended for being so supportive and welcoming of Lori. Thanks also to Rachael for providing so much job support to ensure Lori’s transition into work was stress-free.

Three weeks down the track, Lori is working every weekday during the busy lunch period with minimal support.

Well done Lori and thank you Hungry Jacks. Not only have you created a job for one of our participants, you are helping her work toward independence and a brighter future.
