STEPS presented a strong presence at the Centrelink Job Expos held recently in Bundaberg and the Sunshine Coast.

The Expos were opened by Federal politicians Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd. Two massive ‘job boards’, presenting hundreds of jobs featured at the Expo, and crowds in excess of 4000 attended. STEPS’ staff assisted many jobseekers at the Expos, signing up a significant number of new clients who are now being supported by an Employment Pathway Mentor to find suitable employment. Each Expo featured stands from over 60 organisations, many of which used the Expo as a direct recruitment exercise. Representation ranged from the Australian Defence Force through to fast food franchise and taxi companies.
