In the heart of Belgian Gardens one French man is helping to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability.

In just a short time Cedric Corre Patisserie has become the taste of the region supplying delightful French treats to the local community as well as supplying some of Australia’s largest retail and hospitality outlets.

But Cedric himself is a pretty special kind of guy. Working closely with STEPS Employment Solutions, Cedric has been employing people with a disability to help him prepare the patisserie’s popular tarts & cakes, while imparting life long on the job skills to his employees.

In a mutually beneficial relationship Cedric insists that his business wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for the support of STEPS and the great staff he has been able to secure through the disability employment specialists.

STEPS Employment Solutions are thrilled that local businesses are giving people with a disability the chance to prove that they can be, and are, just as skilled and capable as their non disabled counterparts.

Cedric has now employed two staff members through STEPS and is so happy with their performance and the support he receives from STEPS that he is about to employ a third person to assist with deliveries.

The Australian Government currently offers financial support to businesses that employ people with a disability in an initiative aimed at increasing employment in the mainstream workforce and dispelling the myths associated with employing people with a disability.
