Volunteering for events with STEPS Pathways Charity

STEPS Education and Training programs offer opportunities to adult learners, helping them reach their unique goals.

Our participants and clients may be looking to enter the workforce, pivot to a new career path, prepare for accredited study, or develop their skills for everyday life.

We are looking for patient and kind volunteers to support our learners in class and out in the community. STEPS has programs across Queensland and the Northern Territory, so get in touch to find your closest site.

Volunteer roles may include:

  • Supporting and encouraging learners
  • Facilitating small group activities
  • Tutoring participants one-on-one
  • Reviewing classwork
  • Helping trainers prepare learning materials
  • Providing administrative support where required

Role requirements

  • Have a positive, encouraging attitude
  • Be flexible, reliable, and professional
  • Be willing to follow instructions
  • Perform tasks in a class environment

All volunteer applicants must be aged 18 and over, and successfully obtain an NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Card. STEPS will organise these screenings and there will be no out-of-pocket expenses.

Tutoring or classroom experience is desirable but not required; we provide all necessary training to volunteers.
