STEPS teams up with local radio to get Bundaberg job seekers working
Local Bundaberg radio station 4BU has thrown its support behind STEPS in an effort to encourage employers to think differently about disability.
Every Tuesday morning on 4BU’s Wide Bay Today Show, STEPS will feature a couple of their job seekers who are ready and eager to work in the hope that a local employer may have a suitable vacancy.
STEPS Recruitment Coordinator, Leanne, was thrilled when local presenter Billy Healy offered the regular air time, “It gives us another opportunity to reinforce our message to employers” she said, “our job seekers may have some extra challenges to contend with, but in most cases, when they are matched to the right job, their disability or health condition has little or no impact on them getting the job done exactly as you need it”.
So far the response has been fantastic, a number of employers have made enquiries with one successful job match so far.
STEPS will be listing the job seekers on their own face book page and on 4BU’s page too.
See below profiles of the job seekers listed to date and be sure to tune in to 4BU on Tuesday mornings where you might just meet your newest team member!
If you have a vacancy on your team contact STEPS Bundaberg
