Now working in a traineeship with his host employer Australia Post, Grant has given CADET’s Indigenous Program a huge ‘stamp’ of approval.

As a mature aged gentleman, Grant has endured unstable employment for most of his life. The instability looked set to continue until Grant joined the Indigenous Program in September last year and he was given the opportunity to undertake a Traineeship in Certificate III Transport and Logistics working with Australia Post.

Grant has gained considerable knowledge in his short time with Australia Post and the support he has received from his host manager, colleagues and CADET is invaluable. CADET share Grant’s enthusiasm, and are impressed with his progress, currently considering him for further training in management. Grant is one of many participants of the CADET Indigenous Program which has operated over the past four years. These programs have been very successful with two thirds of participants breaking through vocational and nonvocational barriers, enabling them to sustain long-term employment.
